The top moments from the Friends Reunion

Our most favourite show has just released a reunion. The wait is *FINALLY* over! The Friends Reunion is finally out, hosted by James Cordon, and we cannot hold our excitement much longer!!

The members of the show, Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Courtney Cox (Monica), Mathew Perry (Chandler), David Schwimmer (Ross), Matt LeBlanc (Joey), and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe), reunite after seventeen years on Central Perk’s famous couch to reminisce on some beautiful memories. It was one of the most emotional episodes. Grab a box of tissue while watching it!

Here are some of the best moments of the reunion (Beware plenty of spoilers ahead)

Where they reunite

The reunion started with the arrival of the cast, one after the other, to Stage 24, where the show was filmed. As each one of them arrived, emotions get into place, and every memory takes them years back. Seeing them reunited again in Monica’s kitchen gave us goosebumps and lots of emotions! When Courtney Cox could not hide her tears, Matt LeBlanc grabbed a tissue and wiped her tears. Each one walked through the set where they recalled some episodes, though some other members were lacking in memory. A bit like David Schwimmer where he couldn’t remember the episode of them throwing a ball at each other.

The famous trivia game

We all recall the famous trivia game that made Monica and Rachel lose their apartment. The bet was if Monica and Rachel win the trivia game, Chandler and Joey would have to get rid of the rooster. Whereas if the guys win, they will have to switch apartment with the ladies. It was one exceptional episode and recreating it in the reunion was a MUST! During the reunion, Lisa Kudrow joined them in the trivia game. We recalled the famous answer to what Chandler’s job is, Rachel’s letter to Ross, the identical hand twin, the Barbershop Quarter and many more. Other members made an appearance like Larry Hankin (Mr Heckles, their neighbour) and Tom Selleck (Richard Burke), the ophthalmologist who joined the trivia game.

When the show came to life

One of the best moments during the reunion was the appearance of Bright, Kauffman and Crane. During that part, we got to see how they were inspired by their own lives, living in New York in their twenties, and it was “a true ensemble.” They explained how they chose the characters, how the casting went and how challenging it was to find the perfect actors.

Spilling the “tea”

Some of the questions asked by the audience or even by James Cordon led to revealing some secrets. First, Marcel, the monkey, was hated by most of the cast except for Jennifer Aniston. Schwimmer replied to Aniston, “Because you didn’t have to touch it!”. He then proceeded to add that monkey ate live grubs off his shoulder, and that was not pleasant at all. We cannot blame him for hating Marcel.

One of the most emotional and surprising moments (and our FAVOURITE) was when James Cordon asked them about some romances off-screen. Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer revealed that they both had a crush on each other in the first season, but the timing was not right. Schwimmer replied, “we were both crushing hard on each other, and we never crossed the boundary.” Aniston continued, “but so we just channelled all of our adoration and love for each other into Ross and Rachel.” No, we are not crying. You are.

The surprise cast

Not only did Mr Heckles and Richard Burke make a special appearance after all these years, but Maggie Wheeler (Janice Hosenstein) surprised the cast and joined them on talk on a couple of minutes and screamed her famous “OH. MY. GOD.”

Gunther, played by James Michael Tyler, could not make it to the reunion but joined through a zoom video call and said, “It was the most memorable ten years of my life. I could not have imagined a better experience.”

Last, but not least, Monica and ‘ parents, Judy and Jack Geller, played by Christina Pickles and Elliott Gould, made a special and emotional appearance. They were sitting with the audience, and they mentioned that they got so attached to all the cast members and worried about them, it felt like they were their true parents.

Lady Gaga and Smelly Cat

No one will ever forget Phoebe’s famous song “Smelly Cat”.  Lisa Kudrow previously performed it with many celebrities like Taylor Swift and Chris Isaak. Little did she know that she would end up performing it as well with the one and only Lady Gaga. While Kudrow was sitting on the famous couch in the coffee shop, Lady Gaga joined her to sing it, backed by a choir that joined a while later.

Phoebe cannot miss a chance to mention, “I still think it is better when it is just me.” Right? And she did at the end of the duet with Lady Gaga.

Friends’ impact

Friends had an impact on every person who watched it, all over the globe. The directors were surprised by how many people started watching it and in every country around the world. They did not imagine that the show would have a HUGE impact on people who were struggling. Many felt that this show and the members were their friends. Others got inspired by Monica and Chandler’s story when she proposed, the bond they had, how it helped them during the hard days when they were struggling with anxiety, depression, the show was the reason they had a smile on their face despite everything.

The special guests

What made this reunion special was the special guests like Cara Delevingne, Justin Bieber and Cindy Crawford. They made a special appearance at the end of the reunion during the fashion show. David Beckham, BTS, Lady Gaga, Kit Harington, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, Tom Selleck, Reese Whitherspoon and Malala Yousafazai expressed their love for the show and their favourite moments or characters.

Before the end of the show, James Cordon asked the six members the famous question, “were Rachel and Ross on a break?” Every member answered with a yes. So, they were on a break!

Watching the reunion is a must, you will not regret it, believe us!
