The top destinations to book when lockdown ends

We’re all waiting in anticipation until all foreign travel bans are lifted and we’re all finally able to go back on holidays again. With restrictions slowly lifting, it shouldn’t be too long until we’re all able to go on vacation again. *FINGER’S CROSSED*

In case you were dreaming of the next vacation or even planning to make a booking then here’s a guide to the top destinations to book.

The Maldives

Located between Indonesia and Africa, the Maldives is a perfect getaway to book! Aside from it being the perfect destination to relax by its sand beaches, beautiful sunsets and clear blue water, there’s also plenty of activities on offer. 

Aside from enjoying the clear water and the sun, you can engage in scuba diving, wave surfing, parasailing, fishing or going for a tour in Male to see the fish market, the local market and others. The Maldives is a perfect destination for couples to enjoy a romantic holiday but also for anyone that enjoys adventures and marine activities. Contrary to what most people think, The Maldives is possible to travel to on a budget. As well as the luxurious and expensive resorts, there’s also affordable hotels to stay. Greece

Greece should be on your travel bucket list! It’s a perfect destination for all type of travellers. Not only does it have multiple appealing islands islands with breathtaking views, but it has amazing historical sites to visit. Between Santorini, Mykonos, Athens, Rhodes, Olympia and others, there’s plenty of activities to on offer and places to visit. It’s definitely able to be visited on a budget and the option of Airbnb is always available.

Santorini and Mykonos are the most travelled to destinations in the Greek Islands. With their clear blue sea, ancient ruins, white-washed houses and beautiful streets, they’re a must see. They’re also a great place to relax, to enjoy the sunsets and of course, the delicious Mediterranean cuisine and seafood. A more touristic and historical location is Athens. It is filled with Greek culture and amazing sites. Visiting Athens is a must even if you’re planning to spend the rest of your vacation in the Greek Islands.

Italy

Italy is one of the most-travelled-to destinations in Europe. Of course it is! How can someone resist Italy’s charm? The Amalfi Coast in Italy is an extremely popular destination, as well as Rome, Florence, Venice, and Milan.

What’s so special about Italy? Between the wine, the Italian cuisine, the beautiful architecture, the history and the charming cities, there’s little to not be desired. Rome is a perfect touristic city and visiting for a day or two is manageable. To all those interested in art and the renaissance period then visiting Florence and tasting the gelato is a MUST! Portugal

Portugal has been one of the most attractive countries to tourists. Whether you’re looking for a family trip by the beach with some tourist visits or a trip with your partner, Portugal is perfect for you.

Going there means a visit to Lisbon can’t be missed! Lisbon is one of the oldest cities, it combines both the city and the beach. Between the National Art Museum, the breath-taking view of the city from the Arco da Rua Augusta, and the National Coach Museum that groups all the vehicles from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, Lisbon is great place to visit. One of the most visited location by Brits is the Algarve. The Algarve is located in the south of Portugal, it’s known for its beaches, Mediterranean weather and amazing cuisine. There’s plenty of waterparks which makes it perfect for a family trip, historic places to visit and great nightlife.

Barbados

To those who don’t know Barbados, it’s a Caribbean island and an independent British Commonwealth nation. But what is Barbados known for?

Barbados is known for most of its clear blue beaches, perfect to relax and to do some water activities (a perfect location for surfing lovers- between November and June) and to snorkel with the turtles. You can’t visit Barbados and not have a mix of rum drink, as it is considered as the origin of rum. The delicious food and seafood are a must-try in Barbados. It is a perfect romantic getaway. Australia

Lockdown has kept us locked up for a long time so why not venture halfway across the world?! Travelling to Australia would be the perfect trip for adventures and to discover the wildlife and the beautiful nature.

Where should you go in Australia? What is there to do? Visiting Sydney, Melbourne and Port Douglas should definitely be of high consideration! Sydney is a perfect destination for everyone interested in visiting the famous opera house and the annual outdoor art exhibitions. To every marine activities’ lover, scuba diving in The Great Barrier Reef in Queensland is a MUST; it is one of the best places to go for scuba diving. Los Angeles – USA

Los Angeles is a southern city, located near the famous Hollywood sign. It’s definitely one to add to your bucket list!

The first thing that comes to our mind when someone mentions LA is the Hollywood sign, the Universal Studios, Disneyland and not to mention the California Science Center. There’s plenty of magic not to be missed. Aside from those attractions, there are a few museums to visit like the Getty Museum and the Grammy Museum (especially if you’re a music fan!). Los Angeles is a destination for all ages, from going to these attractions with your kids, visiting the museums with your friends or going for a romantic walk with your partner by the boulevard and many more. Croatia

Croatia is a Mediterranean and Central European country. Tt’s known to offer a lot to tourists and is perfect for all type of travellers. Whether you’re looking forward to relaxing by the beach, enjoying the good food or visiting some tourist sites, Croatia is perfect for you!

Between the islands, the heritage sites, the national parks, the good food, to the nature parks, there’s always something to do. Most travellers tend to visit many attractions and the main touristic towns are Hvar, Dubrovnik, Split and Zagreb. The top things to do include enjoying marine beach activities like kayaking, sailing, rafting to activities like zip-lining, and paragliding. Cape Town – South Africa

Cape Town, located on the southwest coast in the South of Africa, is a stunning city with a breath-taking landscape, delicious food, historical sites, and vibrant nightlife.

It offers diverse activities for all ages and all types of travellers. From driving by the Cape Peninsula, enjoying the scenic road, going on a hike in Newlands Forest, Kloof corner (at the Table Mountain) or Skelton Gorge, enjoying the panoramic view at the top of the Table Mountain, spending the day at Winelands, going on a safari, visiting the botanic gardens to just chilling by the beach, it’s a must to visit! Thailand 

Who doesn’t need to relax after all the stress we’ve been through? Thailand is a very welcoming and perfect destination to disconnect, relax while visiting a lot of sacred sites.

What’s so special about Thailand? Aside from its tropical beaches and temples, the Thai food should tempt you to visit alone. It’s based on a lot of natural ingredients and special spices. The coastline is so magically luxurious and open to all kind of activities from diving with the whales and sharks around Ko Tao, to snorkelling and kiteboarding. Visiting the sacred places are a must, especially since the culture is extremely intriguing. Thailand has many beautiful forests and green spaces that are perfect to catch a deep breath. Last but not least, the wellness and meditation retreats are so needed! Check them out and book your tropical getaway.
