This is not a drill, Billie Eilish is British Vogue’s June cover!
Announced via Instagram posts this evening, both Vogue and Billie shared the exciting news to their Instagram followers. Billie’s feature for British vogue is a visual collection of four images and is already liked by millions.
Fans were graced with four images styled with fashionable outfits from Gucci, Burberry, Mugler, Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, and other reputable designers.
The “Therefore I Am” singer also did an interview with British Vogue as she got candid and also discussed her internet breaking transformation.
Billie has always been one for surprises. On Tuesday 27 March she announced her brand new album, “Happier Than Ever,” which is coming Friday 30 July. She described the album as her favourite thing that she’s ever created.
“I’ve never felt so much love for a project than I do for this one. hope you feel what I feel,” She wrote in an Instagram post that also included mentions to an upcoming release of, “Your Power” that was released Thursday morning.
British Vogue also shared the star’s front cover image with the caption, “For #BritishVogue’s June issue, cover star @BillieEilish wanted nothing short of a transformation. That Billie is 19, is often hailed as the antidote to toxic tropes for women in pop, and has been a reluctant icon of body positivity – as well as a feminist thought leader for her fans – makes her June cover shoot an intriguing change of gear. “It’s all about what makes you feel good,” she says.
Billie collaborated closely with the Vogue team on her fashion fantasy, led by style director Dena Giannini. The result? Billie Eilish as we’ve never seen her before – but as always with Billie, it is the story behind the transformation that is key. See the full story in the new issue, on newsstands Friday 7 May. Billie has always been a positive advocate for our generation in terms of body positivity. She has never been shy to express fashion or show a minimal or maximum in terms of clothing. Truly an inspiration, we never know what’s expected for her exciting and edgy style.
“Voice of a generation. Avatar of internet mega-fame. Reluctant icon of body positivity. A lot rests on @BillieEilish’s 19 year old shoulders. And she has a point to make. Her new look, plus a comeback single that confronts abusers who exploit underage girls, puts the onus on the viewer to consider their baggage. “Don’t make me not a role model because you’re turned on by me,” she says. In the June 2021 issue of #BritishVogue, the global superstar is taking back the power. See the full story in the new issue, on newsstands Friday 7 May. The iconic collaboration provided some surely memorable moments and that’s more than just images. Billie spoke with British vogue, “Suddenly you’re a hypocrite if you want to show your skin, and you’re easy and you’re a slut and you’re a whore. If I am, then I’m proud. Me and all the girls are hoes, and f*** it, y’know? Let’s turn it around and be empowered in that. Showing your body and showing your skin – or not – should not take any respect away from you.”
