RuPaul’s Drag Race has commenced with its thirteenth season. And after sixteen episodes, crowned drag queen, Symone, as the 2021 winner of the VH1 show.
Despite restrictions from the Covid-19 pandemic, it didn’t stop a high-class performance finale that the show has allowed viewers to expect through its long-running and successful seasons.
With the absence of a live audience, drag queens, The Rosé, Kandy Muse, Gott Mik, and Symone herself competed in lipsyncs for their lives. But it was Symone that took the winning spot after competing against Kandy Muse in the final lip sync battle, ‘Till the World Ends.’
Symone accepted the crown from former drag race S12 winner, Jaida Essence Hall.
“So… I just won RuPaul’s Drag Race s13!!! I have no words! I love every single one of y’all from the bottom of my heart! Thank you to my family, my house, my friends! It has been the most magical ride of my life and it is my honour to be your reigning queen! Oh and remember; DON’T LET THE SMOOTH TASTE FOOL YA BABY!💕”
The competition was tough but Symone fought her way to the top spot to secure the crown and title of ‘drag race royalty.’ She continues to thank fans and supporters across her social media accounts. Winning her first lip sync battle on RuPaul’s Drag Race’s first episode, it was no surprise that she was destined for the S13 crown.
